I'd like to take a few minutes for Show and Tell. I'll show you pieces of equipment, and you tell me what they are. Think of it as the game segment of the meeting. We'll all be surprised. I'd love to get one for home for my main server/desktop combo in my basement, but if someone else can really use it, I'm ok with it. And it was great meeting you and I think we had a really fun and interesting talk thursday. Let's try to keep up the fun! Who's up for a talk next month? And does anyone have pointers to the Image generating stuff we talked about? It wiould be fun to try it out myself and for $10 I could get alot of fun. John

Actually, I was hoping I could show my pi-hole on my Linux mini-pc, along with my setup of cloudflared to go with it. -- *"For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. I can try to get Qubes working again on my laptop. I kinda doubt it would work as a VM since it is based on Xen VMs itself. It's clear to me that this self hosted Jitsi instance isn't up to the task, either under powered or the version of jitsi they let you install is deficient. Next meeting we'll go back to using the other jitsi service that worked and explore other options. Thanks, Tim. Re: Next Meeting November 18th, NOT the 11th.

by Tim Keller

0. Thanks for the birthday wishes! My wife has pointed out that I've been involved in WLUG for more than half my adult life at this point! 1. As for the dinner location, I have no idea, it's a surprise! 2. I'm totally down for having an in person meeting, we'd just have to find a venue. The Hudson library worked really well, I'd be cool for that, of other places are more central to others, we can figure something out. Please propose locations and we'll figure out what works. I'm also not opposed to having a rotating set of locations as long as it doesn't become too confusing. 3. TrueNas Scale does look cool. There's talk of putting gluster on to of ZFS for scale out storage, which slightly distresses me. I played with gluster back in the day and was rather unimpressed with it, maybe it's matured a bit) but last week poking at FreeBSD on a VM got me thinking about TrueNAS and it's partner project TrueNAS Scale (which is a debian based version of TrueNAS that supports containers, KVM, etc. 4. I was given a Raspberry Pi Zero as a gift. Apparently there's a tiny unix you can run on it! Later, Tim.
