I've only received a few PGP keys, but there's still time left to get your key created and submitted for Thursday's keysigning party! Thursday night you'll need: 3.2 What participants should bring to the party 1. Themselves - you cannot participate virtually 2. Two forms of positive picture ID - a driver's license and passport are good 3. Key ID, Key Type, Hex Fingerprint and Key Size info (NOTE: please print out your own copy of your key to compare against my copy when you arrive.) 4. A Pen/Pencil 3.3 What Participants Should Not Bring to the Party 1. A Computer

Meeting thurs March 12 + Anyone trying DNS hijack avoidance?

I have no voice/vote on signal/matrix (slow to join at best). ===TANGENT beyond? tomorrow jitsi/meeting, so asking HERE on EMAIL: ...and should I have added Steve's e-addr here? (don't know if he is on our list). Is anyone aiming-to or trying last month's FU-Spectrum,etc,evil-hijacking-ISP avoidance? If so, I'd be more than happy to share how it goes..and choices to consider. pi-hole -> HeadscaleTunnel -> VPS Unbound (recursive) -> Root/AuthServers I'm nearly drowning to understand it but (insanely) committed to doing it. With an outside VPS server doing all my home-network DNS requests. Like those awesome reveal.js + isp-dns-spying.html slides from after last meeting feb2026. Currently trudging thru OTHER ways to get feet wet....... 14-landscape-pages of https://docs.pi-hole.net/guides/dns/unbound BUT experimenting first (as this guide leads to) "Unbound(Recursive)" on local pi-hole. But really aiming at VPS==unhijackable, ..cuz Spectrum already intercepts all my current outgoing port53 queries i think. -doug To really raise my middle finger quietly to Spectrum, I'm looking at $2-5-?/mo VPS options/providers like https://www.ionos.com/servers/vps ( $2=1gbRAM, 10gb NVME) ( $3 initially/mo 2 gb RAM, 80gb NVME ..discounted from $5/mo ) +more. Finally got a new pi (pi5), put Debian on it, it uses just under 10gb so the $2/mo option sounds too close for comfort. But there are SO MANY other providers to consider...should "we" worry about trusting THEM to not decipher the piece-by-piece queries a VPS Unbound would make via hosted provider? Maybe don't HAVE to trust outside provider's ISP but hmm.......

Andy, I had talked about possibly hosting the picnic --- perhaps next year. My son is getting married on July 26th, and we'll already have out of town guests in by the 23rd Was looking forward to the meeting, except it conflicts with dancing lessons (so I don't look like a fool at the wedding) Dick >-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- >Hash: SHA1 > >Hi everybody, > > >In addition, we need to finalize our plans for the annual WLUG BBQ which >is currently scheduled for Thursday, July 23rd. Re: Where to hold meetings..

by Kevin Harrington

I would like to also suggest Technocopia! http://technocopia.org/ We would love to have the WLUG, and the only reason i haven't attended in a while is because Thursday at 7 is our open house night. I would take responsibility for "booking" the space, as a member I am allowed to host club event's in the space with non-menbers so long as I am there to let everyone in and close up on the way out. I still may not be able to attend every meeting, as I give tours of Technocopia, I do look forward to finally being able to at least pop in and out between tours!
