Yes. The meeting is on Thursday. It's been a long week. My daughter got her tonsils out and it's been a couple of very late nights... Sorry for the confusion. Tim. Could somebody provide an address/parking advice and how to get to the Morgan Hall? Today's topic looks like it might be worth the drive. I have not been to a meeting yet. REMINDER: Meeting on Wednesday, Nov 19th, 7:00 PM

by Andy Stewart

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 HI Everybody, Don't forget about the WLUG meeting! J.R. Mauro will be our guest speaker (he was at the last meeting, too, for those who might remember him). His talk will be on Source Code Management. Please refer to the WLUG website for a more detailed description of J.R.'s talk. As a side topic, either after J.R.'s talk, or over pizza, I'll entertain any discussion of why I shouldn't dump Kubuntu in favor of SuSE on my laptop. The Hardy and Intrepid versions of Kubuntu are backward steps in functionality compared to Gutsy (in my very limited experience). The SuSE live CD works just fine. Don't reply to the email...repeat, don't reply to the email...save the flame wars for Wednesday evening! :-) See ya there! We won't be having the install fest since I didn't get off my butt and make the arrangements (sorry!). I hope to do that tomorrow for a potential install fest in 1-2 weeks. I'll say more about that on Wed evening (that'll put the pressure on me to get this done!). I'll bring my laptop and hope that the projector is available (Chuck, can you assist?). I had thought of doing a demo of the VideoLan client/server. Doug, would you like to volunteer to bring your laptop? We'll need a hub and some cables to build a network. I'll be sure to have the necesary tarballs to make this work, or you can download them yourself if you wish. I'll bring a DVD or two and we can try it out. I had thought of doing this "live" like we did one other time. In case Doug can't make the meeting, having another laptop or two present might be interesting. Although the VideoLan client is interesting, I think the ability to stream the video over the net is pretty neat. Take a look at this website for some background info. http://www.videolan.org/ See ya later, Andy -- Andy Stewart, Founder Worcester Linux Users' Group Worcester, MA USA http://www.wlug.org _______________________________________________ Wlug mailing list Wlug(a)mail.wlug.org http://mail.wlug.org/mailman/listinfo/wlug _______________________________________________ Wlug mailing list Wlug(a)mail.wlug.org http://mail.wlug.org/mailman/listinfo/wlug
