I would certainly recommend organizing in IRC, but for more interaction, Jitsi is worth a shot. Zoom does work very well on Gnu/Linux, but yes - proprietary, so, personally not interested in using them more than I already am coerced to :P Jitsi usually handles rooms with up to about a dozen people pretty well, but often struggles beyond that. Most issues are resolved with a simple reload of the page. Try it out @ either of these instances, no registration require: https://meet.jit.si/ (typically pretty bleeding-edge, so sometimes less stable) or: https://meet.mayfirst.org/ (pretty up to date, but generally more stable of late) Tim, you may be able to recover your ident info with the following, once you've connected with #Freenode. Looking at the replies so far, I'm going to keep the meetings on Thursday. It sounds like more northern places like Leominster might be harder for some and easier for others.. Tim. Reminder! WLUG Meeting tomorrow!! Topics: pi5 nvme support, backups, general discussion

Hey Everybody! We've got a meeting tomorrow, Thursday, August 14th, 2025 at 7PM! Location: Technocopia, 44 Portland Ave Worcester MA. Virtual Location: https://meet.jit.si/WlugMA I'm sure we'll have our usual A/V antics.. Topic: pi5 nvme support, backups, round table. I recently had a hardware failure that exposed that my backup solution wasn't that great. This spurred me to get a solution for backups. With a trusty pi5 and some nvme's I've setup a "burp" backup server. I'll show off the pi5 with an nvme or dual nvme setup running Rasbian with ZFS and burp. Then from there I'm sure we'll stray into other topics and I expect the conversation to get lively. As usual, we'll head out for dinner afterwards and keep the conversation going. Andy, The meeting went great. We had one new person show up and we showed off Fedora Core and (I think) Ubuntu. We also started an install on a laptop (but that was a bit rocky). Seven of us then ended up at the Goat's Head for Pizza. I do have to say, that place is MUCH nicer than usual place we have pizza. My vote is that we go back their next meeting! My Framework 16 has been great. I have not upgraded anything. Games I couldn't run before can be run perfectly fine. I did recently try "Return to Moria" and it did not run well. It is PS5 game not available for the PS4 so I suspect it just requires more power than the Framework 16 graphics can give. I'm not running machine learning code so that hasn't been an issue for me.
