I tried to go for a walk this morning, but fell and skinned my knee at the end of my own driveway. If someone could commit to pick me up at my house about 1/2 hour before the meeting I would make sure I was ready enough to fake it. I live about a mile from WPI. Send me mail. I will show you some of what I have been doing, and how I do it. The title of my talk: Love Programs work better than Love Poems Computatational Metaphysics Why and how to write soutce code that can be read Or something else if I thnk of it. Someone said recently that one of the best talks ever was Doug Waud showing TeX printing stuff nobody understood. I thought: "I could do that". I am not a pharmacist, so I will dazzle you with Scheme programs and Algebraic Geometry run through LaTeX. All in living black and white (or glowing green). -- Keith

Tim, For what it is worth I got my second Pfizer shot February 27th. On March 11th I flew to Miami, Florida for an IPO of Digital Ocean (a friend of mine is a founder), directly into the middle of maskless College idiots doing spring break (I wore a mask and practiced social distancing as well as getting my first two tests for COVID). Two weeks later I flew to Rio de Janeiro for a month (business meetings and to see my husband for the first time in a year). I feel safe in going to indoor restaurants (I still wear my mask when not actively eating and drinking. I trust in medicine, science and statistics, and I feel like Superman. Meeting tomorrow!! Topic: The tao of linux.

Hey Everybody! Date: August 8th @ 7PM Location: Techncopia, 44 Portland st. Worcester MA Virtual location: https://meet.jit.si/WlugMA We've got a meeting tomorrow! I'm planning on giving a short talk on the history of linux, how we got here, where are we going, why it matters and delve into some unix history and philosophy.. i.e. "everything is (mosly) a file.. no really.." I fully expect all the usual suspects will also have interesting tidbits to add, corrections to make and generally it should be an interesting talk to help people new to the FOSS world and in particular the linux world why we love linux and why we think it's great. As usual we'll head off for dinner afterwards and keep the conversation going! I hope to see you there!
