Re: Where to hold meetings..

Cara, That would be awesome. It seems that WPI is the most central for everybody. Could we get something booked for Tomorrow or are we cutting it too close? Thanks, Tim. WLUG Meeting tonight! Topic: FOSS for desktop manufacturing! Location: Technocopia

by Tim Keller

We've got a meeting Tonight!!! Location: Technocopia <https://technocopia.org/> 44 Porland St 6th Floor. Worcester MA 01604 Virtual Location: https://meet.jit.si/WlugMA Time: 7pm Date: 11/9/2023 Topic: FOSS for desktop manufacturing. For my birthday last year I bought myself a cheap desktop CNC machine so I could learn about subtractive manufacturing. The goals were to use as much FOSS software as possible to run the machine. This talk will be a high level presentation about additive vs subtractive manufacturing, and from there we'll get into the nitty gritty. If things are going well, it'll finish with the machine doing some milling. Snacks and refreshments will be provided and we'll head off for dinner afterwards. Thanks, Tim. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".

We saw you but didn't hear you. Then after the meeting you found the volume control and turned it up which allowed other audio applications to be heard. I'm guessing you have all the codecs you need already, and you just needed to have raised the volume. The same Pulseaudio control panel should also have a Microphone volume slider and/or mute button that you may need to turn up or unmute. What Debian version are you running? What web browser and version?

Reminder!! Meeting This Thursday!! May 29th, 2024 Topic: Mini-PC, QLC+

by Tim Keller

Hey Everybody! We've got a meeting this week! Time: 7pm Date: May 29th, 2025 Location: Technocopia Virtual Location: https://meet.jit.si/WlugMA Topic: BeeLink Mini-PC Presenter: John Stoffel. Long time WLUG member John Stoffel has graciously agreed to show off his new, small, but mighty desktop. We'll put it through its paces with a couple quick demos and tests. Along with his mini pc, he's also got QLC+ lighting control software and an LED instrument with RGBW Leds in it to demo and show off it being controlled by a linux system. QLC+ has slowed down in development lately, but it's an interesting alternative to QLAB when you don't have a Mac, and Qlab only runs on Macs. As usual, we'll head off for dinner afterwards to keep the conversation going. Later, Tim.
