I'll either use my laptop of scrounge up a piece of good enough hardware to show it off.. hell I could even spin up a droplet and run it somewhere.. we'll figure that out. Jansen sent me some links to the cool stuff he uses and I'll definitely be leaning on his expertise and others. Hi all, WOW! The response has been great! Here's what I've got for volunteers so far: Critique the slides ------------------- Scott Venier Dean Deaver Doug Waud Tom Manders Conduct Demos ------------- Tim Keller Doug Waud Mark Komarinski I was hoping we could get 1 or 2 more people to do demos. I suspect that 4 people is enough to sufficiently critique the slides. The Delphi Developers group meeting takes place at: Allaire Corporation 275 Grove Street Newton, MA Check out their website for directions: http://www.discom.com/delphi/meeting/MeetingDirections.html The meeting is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM so we should probably get there early enough to setup, say 6:30 PM on Monday, April 23rd. I'd expect the traffic in this area to be pretty heavy at that time of day due to rush hour. I will find out more of the logistical information, such as, how much table space do we have, how many outlets, etc. Also, would somebody be kind enough to allow me to use their laptop for the presentation since I don't own a laptop? I'll export the presentation to HTML if necessary, or if you have StarOffice already installed, I'll use that. (Maybe its time I bought one instead of lugging around my full tower...). I am by no means an eloquent public speaker, but I can bring my Kossel 3D printer and give some sort of informal demo/explanation of 3D printing and answer questions. WLUG Meeting June 13th 2019! Topic: Side Channel Attacks

Hey Everybody, We've got a meeting on Thursday June 13th at 7PM! Location: WPI Campus Center Mid-Century room (rm 331) aka, the usual haunt. After last meeting we ended up having a side conversation regarding the now multiple side channel attacks that the Intel microarchitecture is vulnerable to. I thought it might be a good time to actually deep dive what these are, why they keep happening, why they're likely to continue and what efforts are being put in to try to mitigate them and the effects these migrations have on performance. As usual snacks and refreshments will be supplied and afterwards we'll head off for dinner to continue the conversation.
