reminder: meeting thursday january 12 2006 7:00 pm

by Andy Stewart

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 HI Everybody, We'll be having a WLUG meeting this coming Thursday evening, at 7:00 PM, on January 12, 2006 in the Access Grid room on the WPI campus in Worcester, MA USA. At this meeting, there is currently no single scheduled topic, so this means that ALL topics are freely available for discussion (thanks, Walt). Bring along your questions and maybe somebody in the room will have answers. Bring up any Linux related topic and we can discuss it as a group. Here are some topics we might discuss: Nokia 770 - http://www.nokia.com/770 Linux World Conference and Expo coming to Boston in April 2006 Richard Stallman will speak at WPI on January 13th Xen in the Linux kernel (see also Xenoppix) Next month (Feb 2006), I'll probably put together a presentation discussing my experience using a Routerboard 532 and making a firewall out of it using GPL software which I pieced together. Stay tuned. After the meeting, we'll go out for pizza and soda at our favorite pizza place (Tech Piza) on Highland Street. We always have lively and interesting discussions there. Come one, come all, and bring your friends, too! I was just looking at Best buy has a free standing omni directional microphone for $50 bucks. That's definitely within my budget. So the December meeting isn't going to work on the second Thursday of the month because it directly conflicts with Christmas concerts. We *could* do the 15th if that would work with everybody. Tim. Re: [Wlug] Meeting on the 14th?

by David Glaser

How about the 13th. I have an openstack meeting on the 14th. Also, python for sysadmins sounds interesting. Openstack is written in Python. At first, I judged Python to be a scripting language but after some digging, it has some very usefull features for writing large systems- for example, name scoping. -David On 08/04/2014 05:03 PM, Tim Keller wrote: > By my reckoning the next meeting is the 14th? > > If nobody has a topic idea I'd be willing to do a quick talk on > "Python for sysadmins". > > Later, > Tim. > > -- > I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their > constituents as "consumers". > > > _______________________________________________ > Wlug mailing list > Wlug(a)mail.wlug.org > http://mail.wlug.org/mailman/listinfo/wlug

REMINDER: Upcoming Meeting

by Andy Stewart

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 HI Everybody, Sorry for the earlier test...Comcast was bouncing my emails to the list for some reason. That problem seems to have cleared since my test went through. We're scheduled to have a WLUG meeting on Thursday, February 15th, 2007 at 7:00 PM at WPI in the Access Grid Room. We don't have a definite topic, nor do we have anybody who has volunteered to be the speaker. Any takers? After the meeting, we'll head out for pizza at the Tech Pizza restaurant on Highland Street. Meeting this week, May 22nd at 7pm! Topic: Mini PC!

by Tim Keller

Hey Everybody! We've got a meeting this week! Date: May 22nd Time: 7PM Location: Technocopia Virtual Location: https://meet.jit.si/WlugMA Topic: Mini-PC.Long time WLUG member John Stoffel has graciously agreed to show off his new, small but mighty desktop. We'll put it through its paces with a couple quick demos and tests. We'll likely get OpenWebUI running on it, as well as Cadoodle. I recently started (trying!) to use a glove80 keyboard so I'll bring that along so people can give it a try as well. As usual, we'll head off for dinner afterwards to keep the conversation going. Thanks, TIm. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".
