At this meeting, there is currently no single scheduled topic, so this means that ALL topics are freely available for discussion (thanks, Walt). Bring along your questions and maybe somebody in the room will have answers. Bring up any Linux related topic and we can discuss it as a group. Here are some topics we might discuss: Nokia 770 - http://www.nokia.com/770 Linux World Conference and Expo coming to Boston in April 2006 Richard Stallman will speak at WPI on January 13th Xen in the Linux kernel (see also Xenoppix) Next month (Feb 2006), I'll probably put together a presentation discussing my experience using a Routerboard 532 and making a firewall out of it using GPL software which I pieced together. Stay tuned. After the meeting, we'll go out for pizza and soda at our favorite pizza place (Tech Piza) on Highland Street. We always have lively and interesting discussions there. I was just looking at Best buy has a free standing omni directional microphone for $50 bucks. That's definitely within my budget. So the December meeting isn't going to work on the second Thursday of the month because it directly conflicts with Christmas concerts. We *could* do the 15th if that would work with everybody. Tim. How about the 13th. I have an openstack meeting on the 14th. Also, python for sysadmins sounds interesting. Openstack is written in Python. Hey Everybody! We've got a meeting this week! Date: May 22nd Time: 7PM Location: Technocopia Virtual Location: https://meet.jit.si/WlugMA Topic: Mini-PC.Long time WLUG member John Stoffel has graciously agreed to show off his new, small but mighty desktop. We'll put it through its paces with a couple quick demos and tests. We'll likely get OpenWebUI running on it, as well as Cadoodle. I recently started (trying!) to use a glove80 keyboard so I'll bring that along so people can give it a try as well. As usual, we'll head off for dinner afterwards to keep the conversation going. Just to bridge the gap... Andy, I'm copying this to the local Ubuntu Community (LoCo) Team (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MassachusettsTeam) as although I can never make these meetings myself, I thought someone else there might be able to, and might be interested in demoing. It is short notice, though... Also, it might be interesting to compare with the latest beta of Intrepid (8.10) as that's due out next month, and I believe KDE's gone through a major change between the two releases. I'll let someone more knowledgeable speak to that...
