Pretty simple, eh? :-) :-) I haven't posted anything on the WLUG website about our last meeting, but here's how it went. I brought my new laptop with my wireless access point and my wireless network card. Chuck Anderson brought his laptop, cat5 cable, and his hub. We established a connection between the two computers and showed the crowd how we did it. We did not prepare anything in advance, so the 1 or 2 snags that we hit (and quickly fixed) ended up being more realistic to the audience. Many folks commented that they liked this style over the formal presentation style (which seldom says what to do when things *don't* work). Great meeting last night... but we need topics...

Hey Gang, Thanks for everybody who showed up, we had a great time! We also had a couple new people show which was great! However, it's clear that even doing the virtual meetings, we need to have a topic.. we simply ran out of stuff to talk about... For the next meeting I'm going to do a talk on https://min.io/ It's an open source object storage system that works just like S3 only you can host it locally. Very cool! The meeting went great. I ended up doing an inadvertent demo of the kernel when I had jitsi going, a compile on 2 of my 4 cores, plus running cad and my machine just kept on chugging. Technocopia was having a holiday party so we had lots of people wander in as well. All in all, it was great. Tim. Announce: April WLUG Meeting: ZFS: Changed time/location

Hi folks, This month, the Worcester Linux Users' Group (WLUG) monthly meeting will be held on THURSDAY instead of the usual Wednesday, and the meeting will be starting promptly at 7PM since we must finish and be out of the room by 8PM. Additionally, the location is different this month: Thursday, April 12, 7:00 - 8:00 PM WPI Campus Center, Mid-Century Room (room 331) Longtime WLUG member Tim Keller will be talking about ZFS, the Zettabyte FileSystem for Oracle Solaris and FreeBSD (ports available for Linux too). Hey Kevin, WLUG is an open door meeting. If you'd like to attend, you're more than welcome to show up.
