[OT] Introduction

Hi all. I wanted to quickly introduce myself. I just recently subscribed to the list and wanted to do a bit more than lurk. I hope to make a LUG meeting in the near future also. I don't want to waste too much bandwidth so I'll keep this short. If anyone is going up to the Ottawa Linux Symposium this month, maybe we can catch up and make some introductions, for everyone else, I look forward to meeting you all the LUG meeting. As I side note, I read the archives and wanted to second the idea for a "distro debate" LUG meeting. I think that would be really interesting to see what everyone runs and why. Linux Showcase and upcoming WLUG meeting

HI everybody, I will be attending the Annual Linux Showcase in Oakland, CA on Nov 8 - Nov 10. Is anybody else from the group planning to attend? I'm flying out on Nov 3 to see relatives in Los Angeles, and then I'll fly up to Oakland for the conference. I'll be sure to have a trip report for you all at the next WLUG meeting on Wednesday, November 14th. WLUG Meeting Thursday June 11th, 2015 Topic: ZFS on linux! NEW LOCATION!!!

The next WLUG meeting is June 11th, 2015. @ 7pm. NOTE: THE MEETING WILL BE IN THE CAMPUS CENTER RM 129 aka "Chairman's Room" I will be speaking about native ZFS on linux. I'll go into the structure of ZFS and its design principles, and how it's used in production. I'll then do a demo showing off what ZFS can do and I'll create a bunch of different FS types, etc. It should be a blast. Like usual there will be refreshments available.
