Meeting Topic Idea - MythTV

WLUG'ers, I have a meeting topic idea but very little knowledge of the proposed topic, MythTV. I have a DVR through my cable provider, Charter, but am unhappy with it's features and capacity. I am ready to buy a capture card, re-dedicate some PC hardware and commit to building a Myth box. I know this was covered back in 2003 by Tim Keller, but my lack of recall has me missing details of his excellent presentation. Any others think this is a good idea for a meeting topic? If so, would anyone indulge by presenting Myth with their knowledge, hardware info (PC spec and video spec) and setup & install details? Joel

Many of you have suggested some good topics in our recent email threads. I propose that this meeting be a round table discussion of those and any other topics of interest. I'll bring my new laptop for discussion as well. It is a Linux Certified LC2464T running Kubuntu. However, I hope somebody has a DVI-SVGA adapter which I can borrow for the meeting, since I don't yet have one. Since this is my first experience with a Debian type of distribution, I could offer my first impressions. Next Meeting moved to July 18th 2019

Hey Gang, I'm moving the meeting down a week since I'll be on vacation next week. The meeting will be on July 18th. I'd love to do a comparison of a pi 4 vs. a pi 3, but buying a 4GB pi 4 is a bit challenging... If someone already has one and could bring it, that would be awesome, if not we'll have to think of a different topic. Yeah, I know you can buy a 1GB/2GB pi 4... but really why would you do that.
