VNC's site has info for disabling wallpaper, but it seems to involve editing a registry file. When i try to do so, i get an access denied message, because that file is read only. Can someone help me out here? I really know very little about windows. On the client side, the option '-depth 8' doesn't seem to do very much i get '16 bits per pixel'. If anyone knows of any other methods for speeding up VNC, please post. Can I ask what method you used for installing Linux on it? I've got an NVMe drive in my pi5 as well, but all of the images I've seen expect to be dd'ed onto the device rather than a traditional install, which makes choosing a different filesystem or using LVM difficult. I've been planning on sitting down and doing a debootstrap based install at some point, but if you've found something easier I'd love to hear it. Seeking Linux help for area non-profit - compensation potential

Please do not reply to the list or to me. Boylston's public cable access channel (WBAC) is seeking to expand its services and offer Video on Demand and video file upload and download services for its staff and eventually the community. They currently have their web site and email hosted with an ISP and they are happy with that, but the ISP cannot provide them with these new services. They are looking for help in installing and configuring a linux box off their private LAN for this purpose. They also need other general help with their setup including configuring and troubleshooting VPN connections via their netgear VPN/firewall, etc. These folks are sort of windows literate, and they recognize that Linux will provide them with the most secure and cost-effective solution to meet their growing needs at this time. Ideally, they are seeking Boylston residents, but they are willing to bring in help from outside their community. They are also able to reasonably compensate for the above mentioned services and/or barter for access to their fine production equipment. If you are intersted in learning more about video and television production, this may be well worth your effort. There are a couple of calendar programs, - theKompany's (never seen/used it) - OPIE's and Qtopia's (believe they are pretty simaler) - korganizer (it was ported to QTe, it has the same code base as korganizer for KDE So they both look very similar, one is just smaller than the other). Yeah, the ogg player would be nice. One of OPIE's goals is to be binary compatable with Qtopia, as well as the sharp zaurus. How long does the install take? It might I'm a tea drinker ;) ... I don't remember how long it takes exacly. It takes a few minutes to transfer all that data through a serial port. Seeking help. I need help repairing my Ubuntu computer. A. Can anybody lend me a boot repair flash drive or CD and/or one with Ubuntu 20 or later. B. Provide me some advice how to proceed.
