Before the meeting on games, I tested pcsx2 thinking maybe I could show it. However, it was removed from rpmfusion in Fedora 30. PCSX2 is playstation 2 emulator. I have a working PS2 but the He-Man game was only released in Europe and it is region locked. The emulator finally allowed me to try the game. Since I didn't like losing that ability I've rebuilt the pcsx2 package for Fedora 30. http://identicalsoftware.com/dulsi/lzma-libs-4.32.7-21.fc30.i686.rpm http://identicalsoftware.com/dulsi/pcsx2-1.4-11.fc30.i686.rpm The src rpms are exactly the same as the files from fedora and rpmfusion. I cheated a bit in compiling the pcsx2 package. It had some errors with system headers files. Rather than create a patch to make it compile, I hacked the system header files. (It was a throw away VM because pcsx2 can't compile in 64 bit.) Free to a good home: HP PSC 1315xi All in one printer

Have you been waiting to get yourself one of those awesome web connected printers, but didn't want to shell out the big bucks? Well... you're out of luck, this is NOT one of those printers. If however, you'd like a reliable inkjet printer that works well with linux, let me know. The scanner / copier / printing functions all work. Better yet, it has new ink cartridges in it as well! Mind you, it is an elderly printer, but I've had zero issues with it. The only con is that HP branded ink cartridges are getting expensive, but the knockoffs work just fine as well. what size/speed combo to use for a dual SCSI system?

Hello -- I'm new here, and hoping to meet many of you soon! I want to multi-boot and play with three distros for a machine that would most likely always be a workstation, not a server. It would be for numerical work and not involve large or many audio or video files. It happens that the smaller the SCSI drive, the better the performance, and of course the smallest, fastest sizes available for SCSI are 18G and 32G. I'm planning to buy a matched pair of drives in order to spread the partitions for each distro across the two drives. Two questions: 1. I'd like to use use 2x18, but in your opinion, do I need 2x32? 2. Do you think 15000 rpm will be noticeably snappier than 10000 rpm? I don't think it'll tell you if one of the voltage lines goes low under load or something. If it doesn't pass those tests, though, you'll know it's bad. Also, open the PS case and look for leaking capacitors. If you find any leakage, then you know you have a problem. The PIII chips are fixed clocks, you can't change the multiplier on them (like you could on the celerons). At least that's what I remember. As for a trade, I've got a suspect motherboard with a pair of PIII 450s (or so, I can't remember right now) that I'd be willing to sell/trade. I think the only thing I sorta maybe looking for is a really good sound card to use with Linux. My DELL Precision 610MT (dual PIII Xeon 550) has a crappy builtin sound card (which I can't get to work with ALSA) and I'm not happy with the Avance ALS4000 card I have either. I'll try to make the next thursday night meeting and bring stuff for trade/sell. John

As for my USB Keyboard, the BIOS had a switch to turn on USB Keyboards and the Mouse (though I never needed the mouse for grub). Thanks for the help! Ted

I do think the fact that nobody, except Chuck, remembered the FB page that is already there, tells you all you need to know about how useful it is. I am happy with the mailing list; I have never used the web page, though I did look at it a couple of times just to see that it was there, but if somebody else wants to maintain other web pages, I have no objection. The web is made of pages I never look at. It's not a problem. -- Keith
