As for my USB Keyboard, the BIOS had a switch to turn on USB Keyboards and the Mouse (though I never needed the mouse for grub). Thanks for the help! Ted

As I said at the Wed. meeting, Facebook must die. I don't think Facebook would exclude me, because I have already excluded it. I do think the fact that nobody, except Chuck, remembered the FB page that is already there, tells you all you need to know about how useful it is. I am happy with the mailing list; I have never used the web page, though I did look at it a couple of times just to see that it was there, but if somebody else wants to maintain other web pages, I have no objection. The web is made of pages I never look at. It's not a problem. -- Keith

Hello All, I recently tried both the free VMWare GSX server and the quasi-free virtualbox with gui. I ended with GSX for two reasons. o Virtualbox kernel panics under the Debian FAI install kernel after about 10 minutes of package installs. Not sure why it dies, but since I want to use VMs to test new installations to keep machines from breeding in my office, this was a show-stopper for me. o Setting up bridged networking and the tap interfaces to share the host connection happens outside the virtual application. Setting them up I found to be a pain, even though I eventually got it working. MegaMeeting

HI gang, USDataCenters is holding a meeting in Marlboro, MA on Wednesday, June 6, 2001 for a number of Boston area computer user groups. Most of these groups are Windows related, but not all. I have signed up to represent WLUG. GNHLUG, BLU, and (I think) MWBLUG will also be in attendance. I tried to get a table just for WLUG, but they have run out of tables. The Boston Linux and Unix User Group was kind enough to allow us to share some space with them (many thanks to Jerry Feldman). Linux Sparc Boxes - freebie and selling

Guys, I've got some Sparc Classics with RH 6.1 pre-installed. Mostly they have 1-2gb disks with 32-64mb of RAM, builtin ethernet, SCSI, video. I've also got keyboards and mice to go with each one. I'd like to get rid of these from the garage finally. So I'll be raffling off one tonight at the meeting, and I'll bring others for those who want to pay $40 one. I think I have 8 for sale, maybe more, maybe less. I'll give you money back if it doesn't work out of the box. These suckers make nice home servers, and it's easy to addon extra storage, etc. They all worked just fine when booted and installed over the network not too long ago.
