Red Hat controversy

Hey everyone, I didn't talk about the Red Hat controversy at last night's meeting, namely the decision to stop publishing RHEL sources to git.centos.org <https://www.redhat.com/en/blog/furthering-evolution-centos-stream> and the implications this has on the various RHEL clones. This sounds like your Ubuntu 20.x install went south. Was this a new install or your current system? Did you apply any updates before this problem came up? So I think what you want to do is boot an Ubunto 20.04 or 20.10 ISO, and then go into 'rescue' mode or shell mode. I honestly forget. But the idea is to then get into your setup, chroot to your old non-booting setup and re-run the 'update-grub' or 'update-initramfs' tools to rebuild your setup. But we do need more details. Would it be possible for you to bring the computer to a WLUG meeting? People would be able to help you there more quickly than over email. VPN services are a good tool for privacy. However, they they still rely on the trust in the ownership/VPN service country's laws and policies. A VPN service is effectively a 'man in the middle'.
