Belated announcement

After a recent wlug meeting (I think it was December?) I mentioned that my wife and I were expecting a child. Tim asked me to send an announcement to the list. (So this announcement is not completely off topic.) Below is my belated announcement regarding my son's birth. Since I use mostly Linux and my wife Mac OS. We'll have to wait and see which one he picks up first. But at least it won't be Windows. :-) James and Heather Gray are the proud parents of Owen James born 10:26 p.m. December 31st, weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces and 22 inches long. Many fireworks were launched in his honor :-) All is well with Owen, Heather and James.

looking to join the local linux community

Hello, My name is Rich. I've been using Ubuntu and CentOS for a while now. I'm into servers and I'm interested in documentation. I'd very much like to come to the next meeting as I live very close to WPI. I've written a guide about running a Redmine server on CentOS 6.2. It's not complete because i want to add other repositories like Git and SVN besides Mercurial (hg). Arduino

I have an Arduino here, never used; new in packaging. This is an Arduino Uno, I guess the original, made in Italy. The kit contains the controller board, a 16 x 2 character LCD module (green screen), and a power supply. See wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arduino I will never use this, but I know someone can. Maybe a fun project for the right kid or parent/child combo to build something with it. Someone should come get this. I am conveniently located near Elm Park, not far from WPI and easy to find. You could drop by on your way to/from the meeting. I could tuck it away out of sight on the front porch for you, with your name on it. Liz J

Red Hat controversy

Hey everyone, I didn't talk about the Red Hat controversy at last night's meeting, namely the decision to stop publishing RHEL sources to git.centos.org <https://www.redhat.com/en/blog/furthering-evolution-centos-stream> and the implications this has on the various RHEL clones.
