Linux InstallFest

Hi everyone, I've been a lurker on these lists for a while, but I wanted to let everyone know: WPI's ACM chapter is hosting a Linux Installfest on November 2 at 7:00PM. We expect to have a panel of Linux community members speaking prior to the installs. Last year we had an estimated turnout of 50-75 students. If any of you would like to join us for installation, to hear the community members speak, or just for moral support then please feel free! We will be meeting in Fuller Laboratories Room #320. I can talk about SysVInit, Upstart, and Systemd. Do you want to talk about OpenRC? We could try to fit it into one meeting. Cleaning out the basement

It's time to clean out the basement again. I have a few older computers, along with a 2U custom case and a UPS for a VoIP telephone system with a Ring / Tip style connector (o). Free hardware: Internal IDE CD drives

Could anyone use some internal CD drives? Just found a box full of them. They are "bare" IDE CD readers with no cables, drivers or manuals. Will gladly bring as many as people want to the next meeting. Don't be shy, I probably have 30 of them, and all are guaranteed to be worth every penny of free! Using Facebook as a Website
