I would appreciate email announcements continue as they have been. It doesn't matter to me if another system is also used. I think I have most of the other, non-gmail possible functions in my Google account non-enabled. We could also have a distribution bake off if we wanted as well. We did this before and it worked really well. If we have a BSD head in the crowd, they could demo [Open|Free|Net]BSD as well. I think as a follow-up to this, we could have a separate meeting that would be entirely focused on securing BAD/linux. I think it would be disingenuous to not only the students of WPI, but also tech guys in WPI to let a bunch of people loose on the network with easily rootable machines. That's my 0.018441 Euros. I don't know what a Nokia-770 (a hanbdheld device?), nor what NAS Storage (Network Access, redundant S?), nor iRobot (Apple/Asimov ripoff by LEGO?) is, so I am bound to learn something no matter what you say about them. -- Keith

I have Gentoo on my notebook and it works great! I especially like the fact that the package that has my wireless card in it (orinoco_usb) was written so that it will automatically download the cvs HEAD and build that so I get the most up to date driver. I've had this installed for about a year and it only took about a day to install it, but that was mostly due to the fact that I choose the stage1 install, which isn't the main documented installation method anymore (stage3 is now). Its not that its hours and hours of work - its more like a little research up front and a hours of entering data in here and there (at least in my experience). If you're going for ease of install and use I would def have to throw my hat in the ubuntu ring.
