Re: Reminder! Meeting tonight at Technocopia! Time: 7pm!

by John Stoffel

Oh, another thing we talked about at Dinner afterwards was Core Rope Memory on the apollo spacecraft. Here's a fun read for all you techies out there: http://www.righto.com/2019/07/software-woven-into-wire-core-rope-and.html And in general, this is a great blog as well. Also, look at the "Curious Marc" youtube channel if you get a chance. Amazing work on bringing back old Apollo Comms and other old hardware. John

Also, Brandon showed me an interesting MFA token, with small buttons for a pin to allow access to the MFA token when you plug it into a USB port. But I forgot the name of it. Can someone share that with me? John

If my hearing has returned after an evening of Bad Religion and Social Distortion, I'll talk a little about the new KiCAD. But I haven't got a new demo done yet. Send out the jitsi link again Tim so we all have it handy.

We've got a meeting next week!

by Tim Keller

It's been an exciting month in the FOSS world! YubiKey clone attacks, Ubuntu upgrade breakage! Microsoft has decided it's win 11 AI recall feature can't be removable.. I suspect lots of people are going to get real interested in linux.. bcachefs drama. If someone has a topic they've like to talk to about, let me know! Later, Tim. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".
