Puppet is a framework designed to automate system administration tasks (package installation, configuration, user management, etc). Good catch, John - I should have mentioned that! (I do keep my monitors off as well). Yes - given I'm on i3, I do a `DISPLAY=:0 i3lock &` and a simple Ctrl+C is good for killing the x0vncserver started in the SSH shell. Thanks for pointing out those very important caveats. The dread and doom predictions from media are just to get readers. I haven't heard of anyone switch off linux due to the problems. Instead Microsoft announces it is going to work on Docker for Windows.

Those of you who created your keys and didn't upload them yet, you should upload them to: http://biglumber.com/x/web?keyring=4480 and/or preferrably send them to a public keyserver: gpg --keyserver=subkeys.pgp.net --send-keys <your-key-id(s)> so that we can sign them! While not entirely linux related, keyboard preference is something that we all have opinions on. I'll bring along a couple interesting keyboards that play nicely with linux. I know we'll definitely talk about the the RedHat decision as well. It'll be interesting to get Joshua's perspective on this as well.
