I figure we're half way through October at this point, we should start thinking about what we'd like talk about for a topic next month. One area that's of interest to me with young kids is educational programs that work on linux. What makes anyone think that closed source model is any better? Just look at the number of patches Microsoft, Oracle (Java) and Adobe have to release for their products all the time. If they were so much better, why do they supply so many patches? John

Great meeting last night!

To everybody who attended last night, thanks! Maddog educated and entertained us with the Linaro and Cacu projects and regaled us with lots of humorous computer history. Jon, thanks for being a great presenter! You're welcome back to speak anytime! Next up Andy will be giving a talk in January about Mesh networking. WLUG Meeting tomorrow! Jun 11th, 2015! Native ZFS on linux!

Hey Everybody, Sick of your limited file systems? Worried it won't scale when pentabyte disks hit the market? Good news, I've got a file system for you! I'll be doing a talk/demo of the ZFS (Zettabyte File System) naively running on Linux. This is going to be held in the campus center Rm. 129 a.k.a "Chairman's Room" at 7pm. Ideas for Sept Meeting?

Hey Gang! I know kids are going back to school, etc and the summer is winding down... but WLUG isn't! So in that vein, I know many of us have STEAM/STEM oriented kids. I was wondering how interested people would be in doing a round table / demo regarding: Kids oriented programming, circuits, robotics, etc. Thanks, Tim. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".
