Re: [Wlug] meeting topic

by Colin Wilson

I have used the graphical gentoo install a few times, the last time I looked at it it was still in Beta and it did not work perfectly. That might have changed at this point, but I doubt that because it was more of a small side project than anything else. -- Colin Wilson Secretary WPI Cycling www.wpi.edu/~cwilson 617.899.1242

Yeah, it's sitting here in my dorm room single-monitored right now. I can't stop thinking about the dual monitor setup I'll have going by tomorrow night... Eric Andy Stewart wrote: > Two LCDs - is this a home setup? Sweet! :-) > > Andy

The stands on the two LCDs are not built for this. It sounds interesting though. Eric Andy Stewart wrote: > At work, we have a few folks with dual LCDs (only 1280x1024 resolution, > though). We just got some Samsung SyncMaster 204bs here at work. 20" LCD monitors, nice and bright and crisp. 1600x1200 native resolution, Analog and DVI inputs you can flip between easily. Monitor has a stand (and Windows software) where you can flip the screen 90 degrees to go from wide to tall aspect. It's very nice. I'm thinking of getting some for home at some point, if only because of the space savings on the desks. John

Webmail: What do you like?

by Richard Klein

I was at the meeting in April or May, but, unfortunately, haven't had time for the list or for meetings since then. At the time, I was looking for help setting up an IMAP server. I eventually got that working with Debian Sarge, Postfix, UW-IMAP, and the howto at: http://howtoforge.com/perfect_setup_debian_sarge I think everything is working now, although I haven't switched my MX record to this server yet, but I'm still lacking a webmail interface. What do you guys like for webmail? Is there any particular reason why you like one package over another? -- Rich

Hi Andy, If you still want to get rid of your 36G scsi drive, I'm still interested in giving it a new home. Thanks. Greg
