That's a great idea. I do lots and lots of virtualization stuff.. I'd be willing to do some research, setup a demo and do a talk about OpenStack. Chuck, what do you think? A few years ago one of the WLUG memebers (Frank Sweetser?) saved my bacon after my Idiot Service Provider suddenly decided it would no longer be convenient for them to continue running a secondary name server for me. They didn't even reduce my bill by the amount they had been charging for that service. The price remained the same, but now it was for extra email addresses that I had not requested and did not need. A few years later they quit providing any mailboxes at all. I think they would really rather just charge me for sending the invoice. To be fair, that seems to be hard for them. Frank (?) told me about Hurricane Electric, who run a secondary name server for free just for good will and advertising. When I was at PAX I got to see Dwarf Fortress with the new graphics engine running! I know, heresy, but it was cool. Apparently the guy who develops DF has some serious medical bills to pay. And I would also rcommend that you upgrade to 20.04 or 22.04 as soon as you can. Both of those releases should run just fine on a system running 18.04, which is really quite old. It might also just be that you're web browser is old (in the financial institution's eyes) so they want a scan. Is this a laptop with limited memory and/or disk space? Or an old old CPU? I may have posted a partial list at some point on the list. A few older servers (R805, R300, two 32-bay Celeros NAS units, Synology RS2416+ with SAS expansion chassis), Optiplex and Precision desktops, a few Precision laptops (that cost us between$4-7K when new), a 16-port KVM, about 30 monitors, keyboards, mice, etc. etc. etc. If you know anyone who needs any more tech to play with, I have it! I also have a bunch of stuff at home that's available.
