Have you cooked up a really cool gadget and upon looking at the huge mess of breadboard wires thought, "It sure would be great if I could turn that into a PCB, but alas, that software is expensive and proprietary and only runs on windows." KiCAD is an open source EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tool that allows you to take your pile o' wires and IC's and turn it into a PCB! Long time member John Stoffel and myself will show you how Thursday night at 7pm at the Hudson Public Library! We'll also have the meeting online at Jitsi and we'll be recording this whole thing for youtube! Afterwards we'll likely head off for dinner and keep up the nerdiness! March Meeting Reminder!!!! Thursday March 12th 2015 at 7pm in the Mid Century Room (rm 331)

Hey Everybody! This Thursday (March 12th) we've got our monthly WLUG meeting! Same bat time, same bat channel! This month we're going to be talking about the Raspberry Pi. It's come along way since the "A" model has come out! Also because the Pi is open lots of compatible Pi like devices have come on the market as well. Chuck has offered to show off his ODROID-C1 <http://www.hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php> I'll bring along my Pi and the GPIO stuff. If you've got a Pi, bring it along and we can talk shop and swap ideas! Per our standard convention I'll bring along the soda and chips and afterwards we'll continue to conversation while stuffing ourselves with Tech Pizza. Time @ Location: 7pm @ WPI Mid Century Room (Rm 331) aka, the usual spot Topic: Bro Network Security Monitor Presenter: Eric Martin Veteran WLUG member Eric Martin will be giving a talk about "Bro" What's Bro? Bro is a FOSS framework and event engine for analyzing network traffic. First developed at LBNL in 1995 it is used on public, private and personal networks provide robust indepth network usage and threat analysis. Check out http://www.bro.org for more details. Eric's talk will be focused around using Bro to understand the flow of traffic around devices on our home network. As we add an ever increasing set of devices that have the words "IoT" and/or Smart in their names, it matters that we know what these devices are doing and who they're talking to.
