Next WLUG Meeting Feb. 20th! Topic: Cryptography! NOTE! DATE / LOCATION CHANGE!

This month we're going to be doing something different! Time & Date: 7PM, February 20th, 2018 Location: WPI Fuller Labs Rm 331 Topic: Cryptography! The speaker for this meeting is my good friend Dr. Nick Howgrave-Graham. He's a cryptographer who has experience in both the making and breaking of encryption systems. This will be a general talk about some commonly used encryption systems, the math around them and how some of these systems have been broken through poor design. If there are some specific encryption algorithm / system that you'd like to deep dive, email the list, I'll let Nick know and possibly he can focus on that. As usual snacks and refreshments will be provided and afterwards we'll head off for a bite to eat. Dec. WLUG meeting reminder! Topic: DMARC, SPF and DKIM

Hey Everybody! We've got a meeting tomorrow! Date & Time: December 13th 2018 @ 7PM Location: WPI Student Center Mid Century Room (rm 331) Presenter: Frank Sweetser Topic: DMARC, SPF and DKIM. This topic came up on the list as a possible reason why some people weren't seeing all the mail on the list and I thought it might be an interesting topic. The good old days of the internet are sadly dead. Now that the Nigerian princes have given up trying to distribute their money, we're instead left with more sophisticated attacks. DMARC, SPF and DKIM are a few of the techniques now being employed to help cut down on spoofed email. As usual refreshments and snacks will be provided and afterwards we'll head off from dinner and keep the conversation going. Time: 7pm Date: 1/26/2023 Location: WPI Student Center Rm 128 (Taylor Room) Topic(s): frame.work laptop demo, passbolt demo Cara Salter has agreed to come and show off her frame.work laptop. This laptop is designed with upgrade ability in mind. Components such as the motherboard can be easily swapped for more powerful versions, etc. I'm also going to show off passbolt <https://www.passbolt.com/>. This is a FOSS password manager. With the massive breach of lastpass, people may want to think about having total ownership of their password stores. This solves that.
