There is a Windows version and a Linux version (several distribution packages as well) available for download here: http://accessgrid.org/ The software normally requires an IP Multicast capable ISP, but there is a built in Unicast Bridge functionality which will convert the streams--just select "Use Unicast" from the virtual venue properties. I don't think this will work from behind a NAT, though, but you can try forwarding all the necessary ports (a lot of ports) or using a DMZ port on your router. If anyone would like to try this, feel free to contact me and I'll help you get set up.

Hi! When is the meeting? BTW, I have *piles* of (mostly Dell) hardware for sale (donation? either is overly complicated..). Everything from an old Dimension E530 desktop to a Poweredge R515 with 12TB of internal disk (both already running CentOS 6.10). A whole roomfull of Optiplex 740s and 580s, an R300, two R415s, etc. In a few weeks I'll also have a couple of Synology RS2416+ units with expansion chassis. I can forward a complete list if anyone is interested. Most of the equipment is in Worcester, where I work. Stay safe! I would love to set up a mythbox sometime this summer or fall, when I have cable again. Are there any distributions that are not all manual for setting it up? I want to be able to just make it work, and hack on it later if I want to change the default config. I remember it being a pain to build. Does anyone want to speculate how this might affect heterogeneous computing ? I would be excited if there evolves a common standard between CUDA OpenCL. I might even be motivated to learn such an environment. WLUG Meeting Sept. 14th 2017! @7pm Topic: Ceph

Hey Everybody, We've got a meeting! Location: WPI Campus Center Rm 331. Time: 7pm Topic: Ceph Presenters: Logan Brown and Tim Keller. What is Ceph? Ceph is a scalable storage system that provides object, block and file system services. You can grow it dynamically across multiple machines for fault tolerance and performance. Logan and I have both been experimenting with Ceph. I've been playing with in my data center and Logan has gone full production at home with it as a NAS. We'll be able to talk about it's design philosophy, expandability, fault tolerance and management. As usual, snacks and refreshments will be provided and we'll head off to Tech Pizza to continue the conversation. WLUG Meeting July 18th 2019 NOTE: Location Change: WPI Campus Center: Morgan Room

Hey Everybody! We've got a meeting this Thursday July 18th at 7PM! Location: WPI Campus Center: Morgan Room (main floor hallway to the left of the front desk) Topic: Pi 4 I thought we might talk about the pi 4. I'm going to grab the 1GB version so we'll have a sample device to poke at. I'd really like the 4GB version, but those are a bit hard to find.. I'll have it, plus a pi 3 and an assortment of older pi's as well. As usual snacks and refreshments will be provided and we'll head off for dinner to continue to the conversation.
