Next meeting February 9th

Hey Gang, Our next meeting is the 9th! I've been doing some interesting work on the clustering filesystem GFS2 if people would be interested in that... iscsi/iser infiniband using a 100gb file in tmpfs on one machine as a filesystem device on three other machines. So, I can talk cogently about setting up icsi, setting up gfs2 and about tuning such a thing. I also wrote a filesystem testing tool called "death by infinite paper cuts" to iterat I've still got my git methodology slides if people are interested in that as well. I was given a kinect to play with. Though I've got two weeks I might be able to do something interesting with that! I could get into this type of meeting. In fact, watching the time it takes to do a Gentoo install vs say Knoppix is prat of the fun. I can also provide some Yellow Dog Linux 3.0.1 Cds for anyone interested in trying to run Linux on a PPC. I'd like to see how Fedora Core install is progressing these days. I have SUSE 9.1 Pro sitting here that I'd also like to see run, if anyone has some guts and a machine. :) I can even see about bringing along a PC that can use a new install. Also, can the gentoo build work via distcc? I'm wondering if we can leech some cycles opff idle laptops to speed the Gentoo build up. Announce: WLUG Meeting Wed 2/13 7PM More Raspberry Pi

Hi folks, The next Worcester Linux Users' Group (WLUG) meeting will be held at its regularly scheduled time: the 2nd Wednesday of the month, which is tomorrow, Wednesday, February 13, at 7PM. The location will be the WPI Campus Center, Mid-Centry Room 331, which should hopefully become our regular location. If people would like, I can bring my new Raspberry Pi to play with. I might even have a case for it by then. I have installed a distro called OpenELEC which is an XBMC port, but we can play with other distros as well, especially if people bring some spare SD cards they don't mind erasing. Wednesday, February 13, 7:00 - 10:00 PM WPI Campus Center, Mid-Centry Room 331 More Raspberry Pi Afterwards, we will go out for pizza and maybe raspberry pie.
