Hey Everybody, It's that time of month again! yeah, we're still remote, but soon... maybe soon we won't be!!! Hey Gang, Sorry for the short notice! We've got a meeting on Thursday! Topic: We'll, I'm in the midst of building a 3d printer! I *might* have it done for Thursday! I've done a lot of talking lately, but if people are interested, I've managed "figure" out freecad for the most part. Is this something people are interested in or does someone else have something they'd like to talk about. Location: WPI Mid-Century Room 331 As usual snacks and refreshments will be provided. The problem seemed to be in the software or configuration of my Thinpad with Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm) and Firefox ESR 102.15.1 of Sept 12, 2023. I thought I had tested it the day before. I found a way to make a recording and recorded a short speech, which I could play back. It all seemed to work, but when I unplugged it and plugged it back in it required reconfiguration and I may have missed something and wound up using the built-in mike. The same USB headphone/mike seemed to work when attached to a Windows machine, but where's the fun in that? I checked out early in disgust. Suggestions on how to debug the mike might be helpful. -- Keith

Reminder: Next Meeting Nov 9th, 2023! Location: Technocopia

Hey Everybody! We've got a wlug meeting at Technocopia on Thursday Nov 9th, 2023. I had hoped to have a pi5 and be using it as my daily driver, but I've been foiled in that attempt. Another option if people would be interested in it, I could bring my desktop cnc mill. My whole goal has been to use as much FOSS as possible in the entire toolpath so I'm not entangled with a particular company that might go out of business. Reminder! Meeting Tomorrow! Sept. 13th, 2018 @7pm.

Hey Everybody, This is a reminder we've got a meeting on Thursday Sept. 13th, 2018. Time: 7pm Location: WPI Campus Center Mid Century Rm (rm 331) "The usual spot" Topic: git LFS (Large File Support) I thought I would give a quick talk using git as a backup solution for larger files. After that I figured the conversation would branch out. I'd also like to poll the group and see what people would be interested in for topics. Jon "maddog" Hall is the Chairman of the Board of the Linux Professional Institute, and the President of Linux International. Since 1969, Mr. Hall has been a programmer, systems designer, systems administrator, product manager, technical marketing manager, author and educator. He currently works as an independent consultant, and is involved with bringing environmentally friendly computing to emerging marketplaces as well as working on performance and educational issues with Free and Open Source Software via the Linaro Association. He is also closely aligned with LeMaker, a design center located in Shengen, China. While not a founding member of LPI, maddog helped formulate some of the concepts and donated personal money to allow the first 200 tests be tested for psychometrics.
