Reminder: May WLUG Meeting: Field Trip to Technocopia on May 12th!

Hey Everybody, This is a reminder that we've got a field trip planned for this WLUG meeting! We're going to Technocopia May 12th! @ 7pm! It's located at 44 Portland St. We've been told by 7pm the lot next to the building is available for parking. Kevin Harrington is going to be giving a tour of the new digs and then showing off his Bowler Robotics Studio stuff. Afterwards we'll figure out a pizza situation. Thanks Ron for organizing this! April WLUG meeting to be online

Hey Gang, I hope everybody is staying safe and healthy. While Linux doesn't need virus protection, we do. Wash your hands you filthy animals. As the subject reads, we're going to be doing the WLUG meeting online. I've been active in the wlug-ma irc channel as have others. What do people think about Jitsi for doing a video meetup? Refreshments will not be provided and we won't be going out for dinner!! Stay home, stay safe and I hope we'll all get to see each other soon. Next WLUG meeting! April 12th, 2018! Location: WPI Student Center, Rm 331. Topic: Secure Linux Distributions

Hey Gang, Our next meeting is April 12th, 2018! Would people be interested in talking about security oriented versions of Linux? We all know about Tails, and in consideration of the issues that Richard ran into with getting stuff installed on Kali, it might be interesting to compare / contrast the different options out there. What do people think? I'm thinking this would work best as having a couple of people each showing off a particular distribution. The speaker for the February meeting has been lined up!

Hey Everybody, Great news! Andy will be speaking at the Feb. meeting! He's going to be doing a talk on Mesh networking. I figure this will "mesh" nicely with Frank's talk about 802.11*[nn]* networking. Once I get the official title for the talk I'll send out a more official reminder. On a different note... Is there anything that people are interested in that we could work on lining up speakers for? Here's a couple of ideas... * Software defined networking * Robotics * Home automation -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".

Hi folks, The next Worcester Linux Users' Group (WLUG) monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 12, at 7PM. The location will be WPI Higgns Labs, room 230 (computer lab). Wednesday, September 12, 7:00 - 9:00 PM WPI Higgins Labs, room 230 (computer lab) WLUG member Karl Lind will be giving a presentation and demonstration of two Raspberry Pi "credit-card sized" computers that run on the ARM processor architecture. Others are welcome to bring their own Raspberry Pi or other similar devices to join in the fun. Afterwards, we will go out for pizza and continue our discussions. Hey Gang, We've got a meeting, tomorrow night. Location: WPI Mid Century Rm 331. Time: 7pm Subject: 3d Printing FOSS software. I'll be doing a quick talk about software that I've been using to interface with my 3d printer. I *might* bring the printer... I'm currently having some electrical issues with it... but in either case I can give a quick demo of FreeCAD and Cura. As usual, there will be snacks and refreshments and then we'll head down to Tech for pizza.
