Great meeting last night!

Having our own Jitsi instance was fantastic! Jansen got into ollama AI stuff and it was really cool. He's expressed interest in doing a full end to end demo. We talked about the xz explot and it's entanglement with systemd and OpenSSH. It was a great conversation about the history and missteps of systemd and how we got to this place where so many pieces of critical software in the FOSS are supported by just a few people. Next month's meeting will need to be moved around as it conflicts with something, I'll give more details as I learn them. MEETING DATE CHANGE!!! May 17th!

Talking with Frank, because of commencement, I'm moving the meeting to May 17th. Sorry for any confusion! Date: May 17th, 2018 Time: 7pm Location: Campus Center Mid Century Room 331 (our usual spot) Topic: Future of WLUG mailing list and website I've recently been tinkering with Digital Ocean and it might be a sensible spot where we can host wlug.org and the mailing list. Also I can show off MFA authenication of ssh sessions (likely on a digtial oceans droplet) As usual I'll have refreshments and snacks and we'll head off for dinner (and maybe dessert!) and continue the conversation. Hey, I finished reading the "Java NIO," which is about Java's new I/O, and "Hadoop," a database which Facebook uses to handle 21Petabytes of information which was originally based on Google's MapReduce papers (Also started reading a book on C#/.NET) and I would happy to make a presentation about the technologies. Hey Everybody, Dmitri Pal, the director of engineering at Red Hat has graciously offered to speak about Kerberos, FreeIPA, SSSD and I'm sure a whole host of other things! Here are the vitals! NOTE: THE LOCATION IS CHANGED FOR THIS MEETING!!!! When: December 10th, 2015 @ 7pm. Where: Rec Center Rm. 61! (4th Floor) Who: Dmitri Pal, Engineering Director at Red Hat!
