REMINDER!! Meeting TONIGHT! March 12th, 2015!

by Tim Keller

Hey Everybody, This is a reminder that tonight is WLUG! We'll be talking about the Raspberry Pi like devices that are now on the market and the amazing stuff we can do with them. Chuck is going to bring along a Pi like device to show off how open hardware helps speed along the innovation curve! We'll be meeting in the usual spot, the Mid-Century Room (rm-331) at 7pm. I'll bring along snacks and drinks and afterwards we'll go out for pizza! See ya there! Later, Tim. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".

Re: [Wlug] Wlug Digest, Vol 127, Issue 2

by Kevin Harrington NR

Hi folks! I will be introducing OpenSCAD, a DSL for CAD modeling. It is a finite, functional scripting language that outputs shapes ready for 3d printing. It has a C like syntax that is parsed into an OpenCSG tree, that is then compiled down to a .stl triangular mesh. It supports all source code version control unlike most 3d design software, and also has a powerful library system for modular designing. If you install it ahead of time (or when you get here) i can do a live coding walk through. http://www.openscad.org/ http://www.openscad.org/cheatsheet/ On May 3, 2014 12:00 PM, <wlug-request(a)mail.wlug.org> wrote: > Send Wlug mailing list submissions to > wlug(a)mail.wlug.org > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > http://mail.wlug.org/mailman/listinfo/wlug > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > wlug-request(a)mail.wlug.org > > You can reach the person managing the list at > wlug-owner(a)mail.wlug.org > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Wlug digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. I have close friends and near-lovers I have not seen for six months. Sorry, but an in-person WLUG meeting is not even on the list. I am thinking of getting a computer that can do jit.si. Re: [Wlug] Meeting April 12th, 2018 Topic: Security oriented Linux distributions.

by Richard Klein

I was starting to plan to bring my tower with Kali and was wondering if a monitor would be available, but then i remembered I'd have to haul it up from the parking area. It's an old Dell Precision; it's pretty heavy. A VM sounds good to me! RE: [Wlug] REMINDER: Upcoming LAN Party !!

by Stephen C. Daukas

We should probably talk about Mad Dog and Linux in education... -----Original Message----- From: wlug-admin(a)mail.wlug.org [mailto:wlug-admin@mail.wlug.org] On Behalf Of Andy Stewart Sent: Monday, February 17, 2003 12:36 PM To: Worcester Linux Users' Group Subject: [Wlug] REMINDER: Upcoming LAN Party !! HI Everybody, The next WLUG meeting will be held this coming Wednesday, February 19th, 2003 in a different location. The meeting room will be AK233 (Atwater Kent room 233). Please refer to the Wlug Meetings...Directions link for directions to this room. The building is right next to Salisbury Labs on the WPI campus. Please note the earlier start time of 6:00 PM ! At this meeting, we'll be having a LAN party ! This is WLUG's first LAN party so I'm curious to see what people bring. You'll need to bring your network gear (hubs, switches, cables) and a laptop or desktop machine with networking enabled. We'll interconnect all of the machines to create one big WLUG LAN. I'll bring my PLIP cable for the masochists in the crowd. This network most likely will *not* have access to the Internet (but we'll see what we can do). On this LAN, all sorts of activities could take place, such as multiplayer games, network security scans, attempts to (non-destructively!) crack another persons system to teach them about their security weaknesses, and more. Its really up to all of you and your imaginations as to what we can do with this type of setup. I'll even entertain doing a couple of network based Linux installations if folks want that. If people need help configuring their systems for networking, that help will be available. I'll also be available to do a demonstration of VNC for those interested. The possibilities are really endless. Due to the amount of time to setup such a LAN and still have time to have fun with it, I've extended the time of the WLUG meeting from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM (note earlier start time!). Have a lot of fun, and I'll see you all on Wednesday. It took twice as long as I thought it would. I am covered in sweat and mortar dust, using the last of twilight to clean tools. I don't feel like hurrying to get anywhere.
