I'd like to apologize for the online meeting failure last night. Going forward our Jitsi game is going to have to be upped a bit. To this end, I'm putting together a wlug "go-bag" that'll have a tripod, a dedicated camera/mic and a laptop to run the whole shabang. Along with that I'm going to toss in a whole bevy of "X to HDMI" adapters as well as our own nice long HDMI cables, etc. This will eliminate delays in dealing with the student center, allow for seamless virtual meetings, and properly record them to put up on the youtube channel. Time: 7pm Location: WPI Mid-Century Room (rm 331) Topic: LUKS In light of our talk with Nick last month, I'm going to talk about LUKS (Linux Unified Key System) LUKS is an open on disk encryption standard that can be used to create encrypted volumes. Tonight's meeting

I've never been to a WLUG meeting before. It's okay for a member of the general public to just show up, right? On a different note, I was trying to set up the Cyrus mail server under Suse 9.2 and have been having a hell of a time with it. I set it aside about 2 weeks ago and haven't gotten back to it. If I bring the PC with me, would anyone be able and willing to help me configure Cyrus properly (or maybe the problem's with PAM - I don't know)? I suppose I could set it up at home for someone to access via VNC or something, too. Thanks, -- Rich

Topics for next meeting

Before the next meeting suddenly appears and we're scrambling for a topic, is there something that people are burning to know about? We talked about doing a talk about plex, I'm not sure how interested people are. Another topic that came up was a talk about setting up a RetroPi system. Another topic that came up later was BitCoin. Personally I've always found bitcoin an enigma. If anybody in the group understands it I'd love to learn about it and possibly what tools there are on linux for mining and storing bitcoins.
