Nope, the ONLY two things that work are the light and NmLk. These are operated (on my Lenovo X61s) using the Fn key. None of the other Fn key functions operate at time of lock-up. So I'm assuming a panic. Thanks! Walt

So the little house-shaped light with the "A" inside it that represents the state of the Caps Lock function doesn't blink all by itself? Because if it does, that indicates that the kernel paniced.
