Hello, I am the speaker for tonight's meeting. Even though the weather has been bad for three days, it seems to be clearing for tonight, and I just wanted to make sure that there would be a meeting tonight. The topics for tonight are two: Title: GNU/Linux Performance: We are not in 1969 (or even 1984) anymore Abstract: Performance in software is not just how fast it executes in wall clock time, but how efficient it is in memory and CPU cycles. It determines battery life, how "green" a solution can be, and even if a particular solution is fast enough for "real time". It determines battery life, how "green" a solution can be, and even if a particular solution is fast enough for "real time". This talk will examine these areas, show progress of software and hardware over time, demonstrate some interesting systems for developing efficient software, and show you how to enter a contest based on performance and: Title: Project Caua: How to finance your university education while building a business Abstract: While many universities are either free of tuition or give full scholarships, many students can not take advantage of them because they need money for an apartment, food, transportation, books, equipment and other things. Project Caua will show you how to make enough money in your spare time so you can afford to go to university. If, for any reason, the meeting is canceled I would appreciate an email before 1500 today. Thanks, Jon "maddog" Hallnt it is in memory and CPU cycles.
