I got to play with one of these at linux world. I saw ssh working over wireless networking on one of them... definatly linux, definatly cool. The interface is QT-Embeded, but you can find way more about it here: http://www.sharp-usa.com/products/ModelLanding/0,1058,699,00.html http://developer.sharpsec.com/ -Marc -----Original Message----- From: Stephen C. I am going through a back log of emails... the Zaurus (from Sharp) rocks!!! It is a full linux operating system on a hand held device. The number of apps available to it is growing by the day. It has a full keyboard (small but usable) and many other nice features. When you install vnc server on it you can get a really cool window on your desktop to interact with the device. I've been wondering how difficult/how much code hacking is needed to compile stuff for it. Is there an emulator or something so I can play with it? I'd love to get one, especially if I could get NetHack/Zangband to run on it. ;) James KB1FJQ

If you use QT embedded, which the Zaurus uses, you can compile a native x86 version that will run on X using the frame buffer. Also there are cross compilers that you can compile with so the resulting binaries will run on the arm processor.

I used to have nethack on my iPAQ (don't know now to play, so i uninstalled it, but i did work). --brad
