Reminder: Virtual Meeting Tomorrow!
Hey Gang, We've got a virtual meeting tomorrow here: https://meet.jit.si/WlugMA Starting at 7pm until you know whenever.. I fully expect like our last meetings, it'll go off the rails and we'll end up talking about Linux and filesystems, and 3d printers and sci-fi and in general just a bunch of nerds reveling in our nerdom. See you tomorrow! Later, Tim. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".
Hi WLUG, I have a free item someone's favorite electronics interested kid may love. Elenco Snap Circuits 300 in 1 Electronics Kit. Have the 300 projects kit plus an expansion kit for another 100+ projects. I believe all the parts and manuals are there, but no guarantees. As a ham radio geek, I will genuinely miss my son building a working AM radio receiver on his own on a random rainy Saturday. Think electronics building kit, with no wires to connect and with language-free Lego type instructions. My guess at age range is 6 years old (for simpler builds) to about 13 years old. Kids older than 13 may love it, but are more likely to live with a death-grip on their modern data phone device. If more than one person happens to be interested, I will do a random.org drawing to pick a winner later this week. Joel Here is what Amazon lists for a description of the 300 project kit: https://www.amazon.com/Snap-Circuits-SC-300-Electronics-Exploration/dp/B0000683A4/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=elenco+snap+circuits&qid=1601908270&sr=8-6
Hi, my daughter, now 15, has a few smaller snap circuits kits. She's a math fan and is learning python on her own from the python for kids book. She'd love it. Jim On Mon, Oct 5, 2020 at 10:54 AM joel d via WLUG <wlug@lists.wlug.org> wrote:

Hi, Actually, I retract my interest. Went to look at what we do have and the kit you have would be redundant. Thanks for offering it. I'm sure it will find a good home. Regards, Jim On Mon, Oct 5, 2020 at 10:54 AM joel d via WLUG <wlug@lists.wlug.org> wrote:

Did no one bite? The closest I've got to a sudtable kid is a soon-to-be 4 year old niece. If no one else is interested, I'll be passing by Worcester next weekend. - Drew On Mon, Oct 5, 2020 at 12:03 PM Joel via WLUG <wlug@lists.wlug.org> wrote:

Hi Andrew, You are the first to show interest and #1 on the interested people list. If others are interested, will pick a person at random from those interested. Thank you, Joel On October 5, 2020 12:09:52 PM Andrew Oprea via WLUG <wlug@lists.wlug.org> wrote:

I think I can add in more snap circuits to this giveaway too! No manuals, not sure how much I have left, but I'd be happy to have it find a good home since my kids aren't interested at all.
