Looking Glass on Fedora Core 3
Hi everyone, I 'm contemplating installing the new Sun Looking Glass 3D desktop on Fedora Core 3. Has anyone had any experience doing this? The instructions located at https://lg3d-core.dev.java.net/lg3d-getting-started.html seem pretty straight forward but I was wondering if there were any gotcha's. Likewise, does anyone know of a repository with RPM's for this to make my life easier? Any information you might have on this would be welcome. -- Thank you, Andrew Robert Systems Architect Information Technologies Massachusetts Financial Services Phone: (617) 954-5882 Pager: (781) 945-1742 E-mail: arobert@mfs.com

It's my understanding that LG3D, as it is right now, is more of a "proof-of-concept" than a full, working desktop, maybe that's changed since the last time I looked. With that in mind, there was news a while back of a liveCD that had LG3D installed on it, never got the change to DL it since it was slashdotted... the site if you're interested in that is: http://lg3d-livecd.dev.java.net/ It looks like their DL links are still down, maybe you could find someone who has the iso. Might be worth looking into before going through the trouble of building it... -- JP LaFleur rewster@rewster.org
A very good point. I have the live cd and will give it a try. Thanks rewster@rewster.org wrote:
