I ran reiserfsck --rebuild-tree --rebuild-sb --fix-fixable and it found some bad leaf node indexes and some orphaned files. The file system seems to be intact. What utility will check for bad blocks?
When messing around with the filesystem allways a good idea to make backups, just incase.
I would continue to expore the reiserfsck option. possibly one or more of the options: --rebuild-tree --rebuild-sb --fix-fixable
What does reiserfsck --check do?
have you run a badblocks check on the device?

reiserfsck now has no errors? reiserfsck -V what version are you using? I would also recommend using kernel 2.4.19 as recommended on: http://www.namesys.com/download.html also use the latest reiserfs tools. download and install reiserfsprogs-3.6.8.tar.gz the latest version might be able to fix your problem. other things. I checked kernel.org and in 2.4.21 changelog there were bug fixes in reiserfs. not sure if it was related to your problem, but wouldn't hurt to upgrade to the latest kernel. Also checkout the docs/faq at the reiserfs page: http://www.namesys.com/ I would go for trying to get the latest kernel, and the latest rieserfsck to run without error. good luck!
