My filesystem got crunched, and mozilla stopped seeing all my mail messages and accounts. I tried re-installing (1.3) and it still doesn't see anything. I got this error message - error occurred reading the startup config file line 258 SyntaxError: unterminated long string literal. user_pref("mail.newsrc_root"), "home/avedis/.mozi# HTTP Cookie File I'm not clear on what or where the startup config file is. Is there an easy way to save this? I'm probably going to upgrade from SuSE 7.2 to Debian 3 in about a week, so maybe it doesn't matter. I have backup copies of all my mail files on another drive, and I hope to resurrect those after I re-install everything. Instructions for doing that might be more useful. Thanks. Greg
If you go into your "home/avedis/.mozilla" directory, then into your profile dir, and the funky-looking directory after that... grep newsrc_root * should reveal the setting inside of prefs.js (and maybe prefs.bak)... Don't know exactly what the error is (probably a corrupted file) but I'd expect it to be somewhere around there. -Adam On Wed, 16 Jul 2003, Gregory Avedissian wrote:

Thanks. That was the right file. The .bak file was still good, so I just placed it, and it works now. Greg Adam Elliott wrote:
