Hi gang, Check out the August 2001 Linux Journal article on page 22 entitled "Kernel Tuning Gives 40% Gains" by Rick Gorton. The article describes work that was done to the Alpha specific portions of the Linux kernel to optimize its behavior for the 21264 (EV6) Alpha processor.
