Hello, Does anyone know where to obtain PowerPC-type development boards. Preferably at hobbyist prices. I am interested in porting Linux to it. Thanks in advance, Norm __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Sports - live college hoops coverage http://sports.yahoo.com/
Not sure, but isn't Linux already ported to PowerPC? On Sun, Mar 17, 2002 at 05:38:04PM -0800, Norm Legare wrote: normlegare> I am interested in porting Linux to it. -- Charles R. Has anyone tried this latest release yet? Does anyone know of a local mirror for the ISO? Thanks! =) --Track

I just finished installing it on my laptop and getting everything up to speed after grabbing the ISOs and I can say that it is very, very slick. Someone else could probably give a better review, as I don't use KDE, Gnome, or the GUI configuration tools (WindowMaker and a lot of terminals for me). The only things I've run across so far is that a.) the AbiWord/AbiSuite package seems to have disappeared, though it might just be me missing it and b.) the vanilla kernel sources don't yet have DRI drivers for X 4.2.0, but the included kernel works fine with it. -b
