Hi folks! I will be introducing OpenSCAD, a DSL for CAD modeling. It is a finite, functional scripting language that outputs shapes ready for 3d printing. It has a C like syntax that is parsed into an OpenCSG tree, that is then compiled down to a .stl triangular mesh. It supports all source code version control unlike most 3d design software, and also has a powerful library system for modular designing. Kevin Harrington has volunteered to give WLUG a tour of Technocopia, a new maker/hacker space just a few blocks from campus. He's also volunteered to talk about a programming language I forget the name of. I figure we could meet in the Campus Center, and then walk down to Technocopia.

So here's the plan:

WLUG Meeting Thursday, May 8 2014.

7:00 PM meet at WPI Campus Center, Chairman's Room.

7:15 PM or so, head down to Technocopia, 95 Prescott Street, Worcester, MA 01605
