Looking for DDR 333 (PC2700) 512mb or 1gb mem
Guys, I've got an old home system for the kids. Works fine, but I've only got 768Mb of RAM in it. Anyone got any 512Mb or 1Gb DIMMS they want to sell? DDR, PC2700 is what I need. It's around $30/ea for 1Gb Dimms on newegg, which just isn't justified. It's almost more cost effective to get a new motherboard/cpu/RAM for this system instead. Thanks! John P.S. My Tivo, Series 2 has died finally, after 8+ years. I can't get my original 40Gb disk and mfstools 2.0 backup image to boot. Sigh... could be a power supply issue, but again, is it worth the money to fix or should I just get a premiere instead? --
I might have some in my big box o' memory, pretty sure I do actually. I can take a look later tonight when I get home from work, will let you know. How many DIMMs can you fit in the system/how many do you want? Given all the content that is in HD these days, just might be a better choice to get a Premiere, unless you don't have HD capability on the device connected to the TV. You could always search a goodwill or salvation army for a series 2 to pillage a PS from. Thanks! Dave

It's really not worth spending money on the system, but it's just for the kids and they don't know better. :] David> Given all the content that is in HD these days, just might be a David> better choice to get a Premiere, unless you don't have HD David> capability on the device connected to the TV. No rush to replace it. I like the Goodwill/Salvation army idea too. Maybe there's one out there on craigslist as well... Anyone got a deadish Series 2 they want to give me? *grin* John
