Not enough exposure to the Sun
I was looking to get some exposure to Solaris and Sun "stuff". Anyone have suggestions or any old, but good, Solaris equipment? I know nothing about Sun stuff, but I guess the Sparc line is there desktop/workstation line? Any info is greatly apreciated! I have a neighbor that works for Sun. I have some decent stuff. Star Office, Solaris and other stuff.. What kind of stuff are you looking for. If you REALLY want to get into sun stuff, I might be able to get you an spark station. Bob On Jul 17, 2005, at 8:58 PM, Mike Leo wrote:

Thanks for all the replies...I'll look into the "Red" book. As far as hardware, can those who offered send me a price on what they have? Of course I would like the best of what you have, but nothing terribly expensive. Dual CPU if possible, but not necessary. Do Sun's take standard RAM? I beleive they are mostly SCSI, and if so, what type? UltraSCSI, SCSI 2, etc etc, as I may have drives to use. And video...standard 25pin D SVGA? Ethernet too would be important. Thanks again!
