Hi All, I'm trying to build a Mythtv box, and I'd like to know where I can find either the 0.19 or 0.20 Mythtv packages for Ubuntu "Dapper". I've looked around and all I can find are the 0.18 packages. The 0.19 version has been out for a while and I guess the 0.20 version is still sort of 'bleeding' edge. So there probably isn't a "Dapper" package for that yet. Thanks, -- -Chuck
I would suggest you use the 0.19-fixes or 0.20-fixes from SVN (subversion repository) The 0.19 and 0.20 vanilla releases have a lot of bugs, but it depends on your hardware and setup if you will really be affected by the bugs. See the mythtv wiki on the bug fixes in the -fixes branches in SVN. On gentoo linux, there are packages based on SVN snapshots. Chuck Noyes wrote:

Starting with Ubuntu Edgy the mythtv packages are in the distribution. If yo can manage to upgrade to edgy i would recommend that track. If you can't and are stuck at dapper, then add the follow package repos in your sources.list files. ### mythtv #### deb http://home.eng.iastate.edu/~superm1 dapper main deb-src http://home.eng.iastate.edu/~superm1 dapper main - brad On Mon, Dec 04, 2006 at 05:06:33PM -0500, Chuck Noyes wrote:

Sorta. Apt always pulls in the version of the package with the highest release number. If that version is available from more than one repository, apt downloads from the one listed first. So you should sort the list by download time, fastest to slowest. My sources.list looks something like this: deb http://debian.example.org/debian testing main deb http://debian.example.org/debian testing/updates main deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian testing main deb http://security.debian.org/debian testing/updates main This ensures that if an updated package is already available from my local mirror I get a fast download from there. But if it hasn't yet arrived, I still get it by a slower download from the main server. --Andre ____________________________________________________________________________________ Cheap talk? Oh.... I can't upgrade to 'edgy' because the kernel that is distributed on the edgy CD causes my system to kernel-panic. According to the ubuntu website, it appears to be a known problem that the edgy kernel has with AMD Athlon systems. On Tue, 05 Dec 2006 12:58:00 -0500 maitre@ccs.neu.edu wrote:
