Linux Ham Radio CD available for download
Hi Everybody, I have created a remastered Linux CD of Ubuntu 10.10 which contains a selection of Amateur Radio software. Several of you were kind enough to beta test this CD and offer feedback, for which I thank you. This CD has been released and is now available for download from SourceForge: http://kb1oiq-andysham.sourceforge.net/ The software selection is optimized for older x86 32-bit computers that have at least a 1GHz processor and 256MB of memory, but naturally, if you have more than that, the software will work just fine. It uses the icewm window manager, and contains a web browser, graphical file manager, text editor, and other related tools. A short(!) list of the available Amateur Radio related software: aa-analyzer.pl - used with RigExpert AA-xxx antenna analyzers cqrlog - a full featured QSO logging program fldigi - digital modes such as PSK31 flmsg - companion to fldigi, a simple forms management editor for standard message formats flrig - rig control flwkey - modem program for the K1EL Winkeyer series flwrap - companion to fldigi, file encapsulation / compression Fl Moxgen - Moxon Rectangle antenna design program gpredict - satellite tracking grig - rig control software hamlib - radio control library ibp - HF beacons pskmail - send email via PSK31 qrq - CW callsig practice qsstv - SSTV sunclock - track day/night line on Earth svxlink - Echolink client (qtel) TQSL - used with ARRL Logbook of the World TQSL Cert - used with ARRL Logbook of the World wsjt - weak signal communication wspr - weak signal communication xastir - APRS mapping xcwcp - CW code practice xdx - DX cluster TCP/IP client xlog - simpler QSO logging program xnec2c - antenna modeling software xwxapt - display APT images from weather satellites FL_Moxgen and aa-analyzer.pl were written by yours truly and released under the terms of the GNU General Public License (version 3). Please feel free to pass this along to other interested parties.
