I missed the last install-fest, and am anxiously awaiting the next one. I'm considering deploying Bugzilla in my group, and was wondering if anyone has experience installing it, or even opinions about using it. The doc sends mixed messages about the complexity of the install: "Bugzilla is not a package where you can just plop it in a directory, twiddle a few things, and you're off." and then later on... "Installation of Bugzilla is pretty straightforward." The doc also makes it pretty clear that it'll run on Windows, but that there's additional complexity. It even sounds like it'll be easier to install on OSX than on Win2k, and that's fine with me. thanks in advance for any opinions, Rick Gansler
I've installed Bugzilla before, and evaluated the install, and the package itself. I found the install document altogether straightforward and on a more up-to-date distribution than the one I used, (I needed to update several packages for MySQL and some perl modules, on RH6.2) the install should be fairly easy for someone with a medium amount of Linux experience. -Chad On Mon, 12 Nov 2001, Rick Gansler wrote:
