Re: [Wlug] The obligatory Apps CD...
You can add sound apps... ALSA O.S.S. The Alsa and OSS plugins for XMMS.. Also a collection of themes from classic.themes.org would be nice, window managers and such.. Ill help collect if you like. Luke.

Hey All...
Like Always, I put together a "killer apps" cd that has what I think people would want and need...
This is what I've got on it so far, I'd like some input on things to add...
Kernel: latest kernel sources (2.4.17)
Browsers: Opera Netscape 6.2 Mozilla latest build
Plugins: Java Real player Flash
Audio: xmms-1.2.6 + plugins ogg-vorbis
Apps: Acrobat 4.05 xmame 58.1
Thanks, Tim. _______________________________________________ Wlug mailing list Wlug@mail.wlug.org http://mail.wlug.org/mailman/listinfo/wlug

Hows about the top 25 (50?) perl mods?

Not to be discouraging, but don't most distros include most of the stuff that's been mentioned? I know Mandrake includes Mozilla (probably out of date by now), XMMS, ogg-vorbis tools, VNC, Lame, Gaim, Jabber, Licq, and Alsa and OSS plugins, and I'm sure SuSE does with its monstrous CD collection or DVD. I think the latest kernel source, Mozilla milestone, and the free-to-download commercial programs mentioned are definitely a good idea for the CD. Brian J.
