I'm specifically interested if anyone has got hardware 3D acceleration working with a PCI-X video card. I'm looking at getting a mid-range NVidia card, since their drivers are at least useable under linux, compared to the atrocious performance and glitches the ATI proprietary drivers have (and the open drivers being worked on are not overly worried with the card I have, and the R300 driver doesn't have any sort of 3D acceleration right now).

As far as I can understand from the docs on nvidia's website, it seems like it'll just work, but was interested if anyone had any success. In particular I'm looking at the nvidia 6600gt series. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Carlton, I use PCI-X cards here at the office. Most of the support for PCI-X is relegated to the specific platform support areas. For example I use PowerPC 74xx processors on Marvell bridges and it works. You might need to do some research on your specific combinations, but being x86 based you'll probably have support. I can't say I've tested any Nvidea cards though so I can be of limited success. Thanks Brian
