Hey there, I'm looking for a Cable or a DSL ISP's in Worcester (June Street). I've had a chance to see my brother's AOL PLUS DSL, and it sucks. I also tried to contact Charter to install pipeline, but they never answer the e-mail. If someone knows a good ISP, let me know! Thanks. http://www.speakeasy.net/ Reasonable price, full speed, *flawless* service, very reasonable TOS which pretty much lets you do anything (run servers, NAT, etc) as long as you don't cause a problem for anyone else, excellent online management system, reduced setup fees if you're willing to plug in the box yourself. I started my DSL order around 9pm on a Saturday night. 5 minutes later I was able to log into their online system, and view the ongoing order log, which includes correspondence beween Speakeasy and Covad. Two weeks later, the self install kit showed up. I plugged it in, and it just worked, zero problems. Besides, how can you go wrong with an ISP clued enough to provide gaming servers at each POP? -- Frank Sweetser fs at wpi.edu, fs at suave.net | $ x 15 Full-time WPI Network Tech, Part time Linux/Perl guy | Some people are pragmatists, taking things as they come and making the best of the choices available. Rod, I heard so many horror stories about DSL (going out of business, service battles between the ISP and the phone co.) that I went with my cable company (charter). Charter pretty much ignores email -- they are fairly clueless. However, the connection is usually quite good, and very good uptime. I'm on DHCP, and my IP has only changed once, following the worst downtime I've sen following a storm. The only service I expose is ssh and an occasional proxy server. Even after subscribing, I find that they don't pay attention to email, and the wait on the phones is painful. But, since I was already getting cable TV from them, the digital pipeline service made the most sense. Bill
