A little late and I'm not really a public speaker but... I have recently configured a fairly complex directory which backs a number of applications Unix/Linux accounts , SAMBA domain, Open Exchange Groupware, Jive Messenger (a jabber server), postfix, VPN Concentrator 3500. All user / group account information is managed through smbldap scripts from IDELX which I patched to also support the Open Exchange attributes and some convenience stuff for bulk adding users and keeping passwords in sync across all applications. This is an attempt to rid my network of Microsoft and it's working well so far, for a company of 63 people. If someone is looking for some uses for LDAP out side of just an email directory I may be able to help. Or if you just have any questions. I would not consider my self an LDAP authority but it took quite a bit of work/research to get this working. -Matt On 8/8/05, John Stoffel <john@stoffel.org> wrote:
I wish I could make the meetings, since I'd like to talk with people about getting udev to work with these MP3 players, since it's a semi black art. Though there is a good writeup on the net about how to use udevinfo to help setup things.
Someone needs to write a tool to scan the bus, ask you to insert the device, then re-scans the bus and suggests the udev rule(s) to make the device do what you want.
Then, in the futire, it would just work!
As it is, writing udev rules is a bit of a hit or miss, though once you get your mind wrapped around using udevinfo, it' isn't too bad to figure out what to do.
